The pieces our marching band played in 1998 consisted of the opener, "Stiletto", the ballad, "Via Dolorosa", and the drum break/closer, "El Tigre". 

We returned to class AAA UIL competition after a very successful 2 years in class AAAA.   At the Mesquite Marching Contest we received an excellent rating along with winning top field percussion, and at the UTA Marching Contest our band won the title of first in class along with top field percussion.  The band then competed in finals at this contest against much larger bands and obtained 9th place overall.    To top off the season, the band earned straight Division I's at the UIL Regional Marching Contest in Glen Rose.  This marked the first year for our Color Guard instructor Shannon Franzen.
